To start, I’ll visit Blaser Architekten: the holistic approach taken by planners at 24 Austrasse is fascinating. I’m impressed by the comprehensive approach to project development, covering everything from the utilisation of space to construction issues, including acquiring work permits.

My next stop is Vanillaplan. In the middle of Basel at 52 Leonhardsgraben, Vanillaplan is developing AI-supported construction software that provides answers to the day-to-day challenges of the construction industry, particularly in the areas of development and capacity planning. At this event you can find out what a start-up is, and you might even have the opportunity to meet Armin, the self-built robot.

After that I’ll visit Die Bürste. At 140 Vogesenstrasse, the time-honoured craft of brush and broom-making is being carefully cultivated. The contrast between the state-of-the-art construction planning using high-tech IT tools and the handcraft techniques of broom and brush making is fascinating. It shows that there is still room in our society for traditional crafts which have been practised for centuries.

The last stop is Volta Bräu where craft beer is brewed following a traditional recipe and served fresh at the industrial IWB Volta site. It’s nice to see that, alongside global corporations with standardised products, small breweries in Basel offer products that stand strong in comparison. It is quite the experience to eat and drink at 30 Voltastrasse!
