Review - 7,500 visitors at the second Industry Night Regio Liestal

The magic of a laboratory, the hustle and bustle at the parcel centre, the subtle scent in the joinery workshop: for the second time, the Industry Night offered fascinating insights into the working worlds of the Liestal region. 7,500 visitors, young and old alike, took advantage of this unique opportunity. With 100 activities on offer, the programme was varied: visitors manoeuvred dumpers and diggers, tinkered in the workshop and marvelled at production facilities one wouldn’t have expected to find here in the region. The organising committee’s overall assessment is entirely positive.

Yesterday, 29 companies opened their doors and invited the general public on a tour to discover their working environments. The main attractions were the guided tours of the laboratories at Bachem and CARBOGEN AMCIS, and the logistics centres at Planzer, IKEA and Swiss Post. The glimpse behind the scenes at the production halls of Renata (micro-batteries) and Rauscher & Stoecklin (transformers) was also spectacular, as was the tour of Marquis Kanalservice’s impressive recycling plant.

The many interactive activities were also very popular: visitors welded rose vases, operated cranes, delivered parcels using VR headsets, made wind turbines, sampled beer, took part in the wheel-changing challenge and reshaped pipes on the bending machine until they were at the correct angle. With all these activities on offer, the event provided plenty of scope for questions and casual encounters. For young people in particular, the Industry Night was a great opportunity to explore careers and interests in a relaxed setting.

7,500 people on a discovery tour

With around 7,500 visitors, the second Industry Night Regio Liestal saw a significant increase in attendance compared with the first edition in 2024 (4,000). The 29 participating companies recorded a total of just under 14,000 entries.

The high demand from young people in education and training was also very pleasing. Around 2,500 pupils, apprentices and students from the tri-border region attended the Industry Night free of charge. In addition, 800 people, accompanied by social institutions, took part in the Industry Night. The initiators and organisers from Industrienacht Basel Association and das mgmt gmbh draw an entirely positive conclusion.
