About Port of Switzerland Kleinhüningen
Port of Switzerland (SRH) forms the national transport hub on the freight corridor connecting Rotterdam, Basel, and Genoa. SRH provides the infrastructure for transhipment activities and ensures that the port remains an attractive location for logistics in the future. The three port areas of Basel-Kleinhüningen, Birsfelden, and Muttenz Auhafen handle 5 million tonnes of goods and over 125,000 containers annually, corresponding to around 10 per cent of all Swiss imports. One third of mineral oil products and one in four containers in Switzerland are handled via the Rhine port terminals. Around 80 port companies provide logistics services for containers, bulk goods, general cargo, and liquid goods.
